1)We did stick to what genre we decided. Not only was it very simple to achieve, a lot of the examples we looked at, or took inspiration from was music we already listened to on a daily basis. For example the music video “We Cry Together” was a song and video I have previously enjoyed prior to the project because not only was it relatable, it was artistic in the visuals. Reasoning because you felt the emotion and povs through the camera shots and could relate through the lyrics and acting. All of the videos my partner and i have looked at had relation between loving someone, whether it was toxic or health, each video expressed different types of love to their significant other. Kylie and I really wanted to demonstrate that in our project.
2)The way our video engages with the audience, it can have a relatable effect. Two people pushing and pulling between each other all from a common emotion that every human being feels. Love. Now i wouldn't say that our video would be picked above anyone else's, but i can say it was real and raw, and with that can draw people's attention. If it was a professional video i would release it to tik tok. Mainly because the audience is so diverse on that app. It can reach our target audience and spread a message people can relate to.Tik tok has an algorithm that connects people to similar interests. Ours being soft rock/love jams that most teenagers relate too. Tik tok is the most used app at the moment, especially by teenagers. So not only would it be great marketing. You can build a certain audience Rather than mtv where it's more rnb/rap/hip-hop.
3)I would say I didn't use my production skills to the best of my ability because I did feel it was rushed due to poor scheduling. But i can say with a lot of mistakes i made with this project, i now know what not to do for the next.Such as forget little things like due dates, or location meet ups at what time. I do believe I explored more with editing, though I couldn't use as much skill for this video, I do think using premiere pro was the best choice. It has a lot of editing software that would be fun to play around with and get creative.Coming up with the music video idea wasn't that hard. Kylie and I have a love for soft rock music, or love song genres. Were teenage girls who struggle with relationships, and have a lot of feelings, so of course naturally we wanted to make something we could relate to.Now with the filming process we didn't think of the limitations we would have especially with strict parents, and although we did have a back up plan, again due to poor scheduling which i take accountability for, we were already too deep in.Overall the process could have been done better i still had fun working with my friends on something were both passionate about.Do we think differently and have different thinking process that can cause bump in the roads? Yes, but that didn't stop us from getting our assignment completed to the best of our ability.
4)To film we used a Lumix camera that my dad let me borrow. He's into film making also.I had a good time using this camera to film because the quality was so satisfying to watch. But what i can say that was a problem was that the camera needed to be plugged up in order to work. So in some scenes we have to use an iphone which causes different quality issues when it comes to editing. I edited on a windows desktop on premiere pro. I've used that software before but I was a little rusty since the last time I used it. I did get the hang of it and my dad did show me some new tricks, like slowing down scenes, or framing.I used premier pro because one it's what a lot of professionals use and i wanted to get the feel of that or atleast get introduced incase i would be using it in the near future. Also because i had footage on an sd card, it was a lot easier to transfer and edit on pro. It made the process a lot smoother and our video came out better than we expected
